Hello!

Welcome to the Nettlesome Life. I document my adventures in herbal soap making, growing food, foraging for wild edibles and making things by hand. Hope you have a nice stay!

Summer Soaps are Coming!

Summer Soaps are Coming!

It’s been quite a while since I’ve talked about soaps here on the blog. I’ve been mostly doing that in the newsletter. If you haven’t signed up for my newsletter yet you definitely should as that’s where the gravy is in a more consistent weekly schedule.

Right now it’s all about spring soaps and flowers, flowers, flowers. This week I’m having a big Spring Cleaning Soap Sale bring the smell of real flowers into your home and let the hand picked and dried flowers brighten up your sink!

I’m now getting ready for our summer seasonal soaps. The very popular “Bug-Out” citronella & lavender soap will be back, along with “Summer Days” peppermint & sweet orange", and the newest soap this season that is yet to be named, but it’s a gardener’s delight, made with carrots grown in the big garden and scented with listea, grapefruit and patchouli, it is totally divine! (look for a blog post just about the back story of this soap soon.)

If you are a fan of the “Mocha Soap-a” coffee soap, you be excited to know that I have revamped it for a new and even more edible look! I infused the soap with a freshly brewed pot of locally roasted coffee and added in hand ground beans for a little scrubbing action.

“Every soap purchase has been wonderful! I appreciate the care that goes into each bar and every shipment. It’s so hard to pick a favorite since every one smells divine. This is my go-to for myself and for gifts!”
— Kayla, South Carolina

“Simply Soap”, the newest addition to my “always in the pantry soaps”, made with just olive oil! I had many customers ask for a soap without almond or coconut oil. Since my soaps normally contain both of those skin loving oils, I had to go back to the drawing board. Luckily, someone else hundreds of years ago did the drawing for me and created the oh so simple castile soap; made with just olive oil, lye and water. This is the simplest soap I have for sensitive skin types. It has one of the most luxurious, creamy, silky feelings.

And last, but not least, if you’ve wanted to try my soaps, but haven’t been able to decide what to get I’ve created a soap sampler box. These little soap chunks are perfect for traveling keeping in your day bag or night bag, camping and just about anytime you need natural soap.

Have a great week!
